Cx Associates is pleased to announce the addition of Charlie Maitland to our team as an Engineering Associate. Charlie brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in mechanical engineering, energy efficiency, and sustainable practices to our organization.
Charlie holds a Master of Science in Engineering with a concentration in materials science from Brown University, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and Management from Clarkson University, where he minored in sustainable energy systems engineering and environmental policy. He is also a certified Engineer-in-Training (EIT).
Prior to joining Cx Associates, Charlie worked in engineering sales for VRF systems at one of North America's largest HVAC distributors. In this role, he contributed to an energy modeling study on the life cycle climate performance (LCCP) of various HVAC systems, including detailed estimates of refrigerant emissions.
Charlie's professional background also includes serving as a facilities engineer for the National Life Group headquarters, Vermont's largest office complex. There, he focused on energy efficiency upgrades to HVAC mechanical equipment and controls. His expertise in this area was highlighted when he presented at the EVT BPX conference, showcasing a controls upgrade that improved energy performance and enabled participation in the GMP/Dynamic Organics FLM (flexible load management) program.
At Cx Associates, Charlie has already begun applying his skills to projects such as energy assessments for Vermont's municipal buildings and commissioning work for The Putney School and the Springfield Hospital Pharmacy.
Charlie's diverse experience in HVAC systems, energy modeling, and sustainable engineering practices aligns perfectly with our commitment to innovative and environmentally responsible engineering solutions, and further strengthens our ability to deliver the best possible services to our clients.
