Cx Associates, a leading energy engineering firm and pioneer in the field of building commissioning, announces the addition of Gretchen Schimelpfenig to its team as engineer. Gretchen will apply her expertise in net zero energy buildings and renewable energy technology for Cx Associates’ clients.
Ms. Schimelpfenig has “great enthusiasm and admiration for Vermont’s clean energy and high-performance building industries,” says Managing Principal Jennifer Chiodo. “We’re so pleased to have her join our growing team.”
Before joining Cx Associates, Gretchen worked on engineering projects and published reports and guides on the topic of environmentally friendly practices in architecture and engineering. Her academic work received many awards and recognitions.
Ms. Schimelpfenig is a registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) and a LEED Green Associate. She earned an M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering, Sustainable Design & Construction – Energy from Stanford University, and a B.S. in Architectural Engineering from the University of Wyoming. She is a member of the American Society of Professional Engineers and the Society of Women Engineers and resides in Burlington with her husband and two cats.
